Jimmy and Yusby's story with us began a year before their wedding, when we photographed their engagement here in Anguilla. They fell in love with the island, the experience and the photographs we created together. When it came time to get married they decided to return to the same place and asked us to document the next chapter of their story.
They chose an intimate elopement at Belmond Cap Juluca, exchanging vows along the shores of Maundays Bay with no large guest list or elaborate schedule, just the two of them celebrating in a place that had already became meaningful to their relationship.
Having photographed their engagement the year before made documenting their wedding especially personal. There was already a familiarity and trust between us, allowing the day to unfold naturally without the feeling of meeting a photography film for the first time. From their quiet ceremony to portraits around Cap Juluca, the day was intentionally simple, intimate and entirely theirs.
For us, there was something particularly special about welcoming Jimmy and Yusby back to Anguilla, not simply as client returning for another session, but as a couple returning to the island to begin their marriage.
